Statement as of 04:11 AM EST del 02 febbraio 2007

... Lake effect Snow Advisory in effect from 6 PM this evening to
1 am EST Saturday...

The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a lake effect
Snow Advisory... which is in effect from 6 PM this evening to 1 am
EST Saturday.

Southwest winds will increase later this afternoon ahead of an
approaching cold front. Light snow will become enhanced by the lake
and could turn briefly heavy for a time this evening before moving
south of the area by midnight as the front passes. There is the
potential for 3 to 6 inches of snow. Winds will increase to 20 to 30
mph this evening which will result in considerable blowing and
drifting snow. Road conditions will deteriorate markedly this evening.

In lake effect snow the weather can vary from locally heavy snow
in narrow bands to clear skies just a few miles away. If you will
be traveling across the region be prepared for rapid changes in
Road and visibility conditions. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio
and other radio and TV stations for further details or updates.

Ciao a tutti.
